DALE SCHUSS, RPA
President
With over 20 years experience in the field of property management and real estate services, Dale has a wealth of know-how that he brings to Randall North, the company he founded in 2008. In his previous positions, he saw first-hand what worked and what didn’t in investment property management. Dale determined how he would transform his own business to streamline this vital service for the both the property manager and the investor: how to reduce costs, how to increase property value, how to save clients time, how to maximize on service. These observations evolved into the Randall North Difference, the cornerstone of his innovative approach to property and facility management.
As President of Randall North, Dale continues to realize the company vision, which for him means constantly exploring new ways to be better, faster, and smarter. As a committed leader to his team, he prioritizes maintaining a dynamic work environment. Dale fosters each team member’s entrepreneurial spirit, creating incentives to encourage accountability. Supporting a highly motivated team translates into exceptional customer interactions with Randall North clientele.
Dale has lived in the Victoria area since 2003, where he is raising his two teenagers. During his time off from his visionary responsibilities, Dale is an avid reader. As his schedule permits, he loves seizing the opportunity to travel and get outdoors.
RYAN HOCKLEY
Regional Manager, Victoria
To his role as Regional Property Manager for Randall North, Ryan brings a steadfast commitment to get the job done efficiently and effectively, and shares Dale’s vision to reinvent property management processes. He obtained his Property Management Certification from the University of British Columbia, where he also holds certification in Strata Management. Previous to working with Randall North, Ryan worked as an established plumbing contractor, giving him direct knowledge of how to collaborate with, and expect the best from contracted support teams.
Ryan’s primary responsibilities include managing the property and facility caretakers, overseeing building maintenance, directing sub-contractor teams, and resolving tenant issues. Ryan enjoys working at Randall North for the flexible and relaxed work environment that defines the culture, and the employee incentives that enable top performers to be remunerated accordingly. He notes the team dynamic at Randall North creates a positive atmosphere for both his co-workers and his clients.
In his spare time, Ryan enjoys playing guitar and venturing into the surrounding outdoors of Southern Vancouver Island.
LYNN CHIVERS
Regional Manager, Prince Rupert
Lynn was instrumental in establishing Randall North’s first satellite office in Prince Rupert, which has helped to establish the standards for future remote locations in British Columbia and beyond. Working in property management for 16 years, Lynn knows what is required to build excellent relationships with her clients, how to make the most of their investment, and how to skillfully increase the value of their properties by attracting quality tenants and reducing vacancies. Lynn is an industry insider in the Prince Rupert real estate market, where she also works as a realtor.
Lynn appreciates the no-nonsense approach to property management as outlined in the Randall North Difference. Because she works independently, Lynn finds it advantageous to apply Randall North’s systematic method, making managing investment properties uncomplicated.
Lynn is committed to going the extra distance for her clients, even if it means taking calls evenings and weekends, and forgoing hobbies in her spare time.
MARLENE JESS
Property Manager, Victoria
Marlene draws enthusiasm for property management for Randall North from a diverse background in both academic and work experience. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Brock University, a Diploma in Fine Arts from Vancouver Island School of Art, and a diploma in Property Management Licensing from the UBC Sauder School of Business. She has worked as Facility Manager & Curator for the Vancouver Island School of Art.
Marlene describes her role in Randall North’s Victoria region as “meeting the needs of people and places in the renters’ community”. Building trustworthy relationships with both clients and team of tradespeople is of utmost importance. She finds satisfaction uncovering every nook and cranny of the buildings she is responsible for.
Randall North offers Marlene a flexible environment that she truly appreciates, along with the collaborative team atmosphere supported by Dale, Ryan, Sarah and the other staff. She believes that the key to Randall North’s success is that the team offers a fresh perspective to the property and facility management industry.
SARAH LANG
Office Manager, Victoria
After over 10 years in the Customer Service industry, Sarah joined the Randall North team as Office Manager for the Victoria Regional Office, where she is responsible for general administration, accounts payable, communications, and client coordination. Her background includes a Certificate in Business Administration from Camosun College in Victoria, and over two years working as Executive Administrator for a local IT consulting firm.
Sarah is enthusiastic to play a significant role in Randall North’s growing success, where a flexible working environment is supported by the management team. As both clients and tenants first connect with Randall North, Sarah exemplifies the company vision to be approachable, reliable and honourable.
Sarah lives in the Victoria area with her beloved dog, Max. She enjoys art, music, and cooking for her friends and family.
